The kit went together spread over a few days, just doing little bits each day. That gives good time for any glue used to dry properly.
No real problems with assembly but fumbled now and then due to my 83 year old eyes not being as good as they used to be.
The LEDs seemed too bright to me plus that big white plastic lamp surround was too big over the doorway so left that part off and simply sprayed the LED and the plastic dome for the top LED with white quick dry spray paint. That diffused the lights more and made the lighting seem less harsh.
Once assembled and testing the lighting I felt that the interior of the train needed a light so pulled apart again and added a yellow LED inside the train and it looks better. That LED is separate to the normal touch control LEDs so I will need to add another hidden switch to control that.
Hint for assembly, use the provided sandpaper to very gently make a very tiny rounding of the edges of tabs as otherwise sometimes the thin ply used will occasionally split a layer off when inserting and that makes the fit too loose.
One problem is that standing on its own the left hand side tends to bulge out a bit with the weight of parts on it. If tucked in between books then that would not happen.
Nice kit, recommended.
